Heading to Wordpress

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for visiting.  The blog has moved to a wordpress site with the same name.  You can also find the videos on my You Tube Channel.

Now that Blip is no longer, there isn’t a reason to house the video on the blogspot blog as well.  Saves me from updating in 3 places.  Which is great!

Thanks for stopping by!

Episode 128: Socks on the Horizon

Welcome to the Knitting Samurai and Her Guys Video Podcast!

Knitting Time:

Finished the 7th and 8th of Tristan's Dinner Napkins.  Last ones. Using Grandmother's Dishcloth Pattern using Lily Sugar and Cream Ombre's.  Will send the remaining skeins to my grandmother to crochet into dinner napkins for him.  This group should last us for a while.  For the 8 I did knit I used 380 Yards.

UFOs got new project bags.  Really seemed to help!

Christmas Juliettes by Linda S Worland using Knit Picks Stroll in Spruce and Plymouth Happy Feet in Cranberry.  Project was started July 10th 2010!  Long time in the making.  Had a sock and a half completed.  Finished! for 370 yards Using US size 1.5 & 2s or 2.5 & 2.75mm needles.

Mum's Starter Socks for Steve using Patons Kroy Sock FX in the Cascade Color.  Using US size 1.5 or 2.5mm needles.  These were cast on Febuary 18th 2010.  Had just turned the first heel and was doing color management with mismatched dye lots.  Sock is too large for my foot or Mum's, ergo Steve gets them.  He doesn't mind the color.  Finished first sock and started second.

Blue that Sings socks, my monthly self striping vanilla sock. My basic toe up sock receipe: US size 0 - 2.0mm needles. Wendy Johnson's Slip Stitch Heel Basic Sock. A 2x2 rib on top of that. Yarn is Scrumptiouspurl Stripe Me Up in the Berrylicious Colorway.  80/20 merino nlon -love it!

Magic Slippers by Caroline Hegwer sized them up to fit Toddler size 10 foot.  Turned out closer to an 8-9.  And Ro now wears an 11 so too small.  Used Us size 3 - 3.25mm needles.  Cast on February 2014.  Yarn is Fibernymph Dye Works Happy Camper in the Look Into Their Eyes color way.  Club color, 100% superwash merino Sport weight, discontinued.  Used 112 yards but because sole was doubled, only 74 yards count.

Swirl Hat by Mandie Harrington second round!  Cast on with a second one with White Birch Fiber Arts 80/20 Merino Nylon Self-Striping in the Tan, Rested, and Ready colorway.  Finished the one with the Monkey stitch pattern. Loved them for Tristan.

Jet Plan Mittens are the Felted Kid Mitts by TECHknitter $3.25 on Rav.  Using Malabrigo Worsted -100% merino single ply wool, perfect for felting.  Color is 59 Lime Blue.  Initial Cast on was January 2015.  Finished top and felted both pairs.  Cutting away cotton not so much fun.  First row is tough on hands.  Need to knit 4 cuffs.

The Easy by Martina Behm purchased Done Roving Frolicking Feet in the Apple Picking Colorway for this shawl back in January. Using US size 3 - 3.25mm needles. Has captured me!

Unsure of the Campside Shawl by Alicia Plummer. Using Spooky colorway of Dragon Fly Fibers Traveller base. US size 7 - 4.5mm needles. Not in love with the eyelet section or the way the center increases look. Really like the size and mesh section. Yarn is lovely and will look great this fall. OK go for it!

Tristan's BRQ! By Shelley Mackie & Larissa Brown Using US size 2s - 2.75mm needles. Using Opal Rainforest, Fibernymph Bounce, and Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stopper in Dipping Sauce is the final piece.
